Bell's Palsy

What an interesting disorder. I was recently diagnosed with it and it's been a bit frustrating trying to find specifics on what I am feeling.
I've lost some movement on the right side of my face. My right eye doesn't fully shut. It is either over teary or dry. At all time there is a constant burning. My lips don't fully close. Often losing control of liquids through the weak muscles around my lips. My taste has diminished. The once palatable taste buds I had now only remind me of the blandness that food can be. A real torment to a "foodie" like me.
We often feel distressed that we don't have answers. We don't know "the why". But I am reminded that "we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose". What great testament we have that through all of the afflictions we face, rather than look down on ourselves, we can look up to Him. What a promise to one day sit with Him and just praise and honor Him.

Carlos Birthday

So a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to celebrate my little brother's birthday. Isn't he so big already. Little Carlitos. This was my favorite of my brother and my wonderful parents.
